The Great Pumpkin Showdown! Part 3- And the Winner Is...

"Man, Ivy has been in that room for so long! I feel like it's been a week!" Jess complained.
"I know! But if she doesn't come out soon with a decision, then we'll just have to make her come out," Samantha said.
"I agree. She's taking way too long!" Emily replied.

Jessica wasn't complaining at all. She was too busy trying to find two identical kernels of popcorn.

Finally, Ivy stepped out of her bedroom with the blue ribbon in her hand.
"GOOD! You're out!! We've been waiting for forever!!" Samantha exclaimed.
"Did you come to a decision, then?" Emily asked.

"Yes, I came to a decision," Ivy answered.

The three girls stared at her, waiting for her to announce the winner. The fourth girl (if you can guess which one) stared at the shiny blue ribbon in Ivy's outstretched hand, thinking about how good it would look in her bedroom with her karate trophies. (Yes, it was Jessica)

"I have decided that the winner is..." Ivy paused for dramatic effect.

"ME!!! I win!" Ivy burst out.

"WHAT?!?!?!?!?!"
Jess turned around, completely exasperated, while Emily and Samantha protested. Jessica stared at some more popcorn, waiting for the chaos to die down.

"Calm down, everyone. I didn't actually decide that I won! I didn't even design a pumpkin! But what took me so long in there was that I'm not the one who decided the winner here. All of your pumpkins were so great, I couldn't decide! So I posted your pumpkins onto the Internet and asked other people to vote. And the people have spoken!" Ivy explained.

"What have they decided?" Emily asked.
"Did I win, Ivy?" Jess took a step forward.

"Oh, Jess. Jess, Jess, Jess. No, you didn't win," Ivy said matter-of-factly.

Jess frowned. "But my pumpkin was so good! Oh well..." She walked over and stood next to her friends.

"Then that can only mean one thing... I WIN!!!" Jessica shouted and jumped up, dumping her popcorn all over the floor. But she was so excited that she didn't even care. She wouldn't have cared even if she hadn't been excited, really.

"Uh, no, Jessica. You didn't win either," Ivy said.
"Well, of course I didn't win- Edna won!" Jessica clarified.
"OK, no, Edna didn't win either," Ivy explained.

Ivy stepped over the popcorn and left Jessica to pout amongst the pile of popcorn.

"So, that just leaves us!" Samantha declared.
"Oh goody! I'm still in the running!" Emily was delighted.

"Yes, that just leaves you two. Well, congratulations! It was a tie! You both won!" Ivy announced.

Emily and Samantha looked at each other.
"How is that possible?" Samantha asked.

"Well, you both got the same number of votes. Here's your ribbon!" Ivy gave them the ribbon.

"Thanks," Emily said as they both accepted the ribbon.
"Yeah, thanks," Samantha was still a bit disappointed about the tie.
"Well, how are we going to do this? We can't exactly share the ribbon, can we?" Emily asked.
Samantha shrugged.

"You know what? I have an idea. Can I have the ribbon for now?" Jess said.

Once Jess had received the ribbon, she pulled Jessica aside for a moment.
"Can you do something for me?" Jess asked.
"Sure, whatcha need?" Jessica replied.

A few moments later, Jess called all of the girls into the living room, and they gathered around the mantel.
"Alright, so! I have called you in here for a very special reason," Jess started.
Then Jessica ran into the room, bringing a white card with her. "I got it, Jess!"

"Thanks, Jessica," Jess said as she grabbed the card.

Then she and Jessica turned around and started to fiddle around with the mantel, while Samantha, Ivy, and Emily stood there, waiting.

Then Jess and Jessica turned around and showed everyone what they had done.
"Check it out, girls!" Jess said.

Emily and Samantha leaned into the mantle and inspected it.

There hung a little plaque with the words "Samantha & Emily, The Great Pumpkin Showdown, 2014" on it, with the blue ribbon hanging beside it.

Samantha turned around to look at Jess.
"Oh, thank you, Jess!" Samantha hugged Jess. "This is the perfect way for us to share the award!"

Emily wasn't far behind in her gratitude. All of the girls were happy to have the new piece up in their house.
"Oh! Let's take a picture of you two with your award!" Ivy suggested.
"Yes, let's!" Emily, the shutterbug, said. She ran to get her camera and handed it to Ivy.

"Say PUMPKIN!" Ivy said.
"What a perfect way to end the competition!" Emily smiled.
Samantha grinned along.
------------------------------------------------------

Congratulations to the winners! For a while there, Samantha was in the lead, but then Emily snuck in at the last minute for the tie, thanks to one final vote today. To me, if there had only been one winner, I feel like the ending wouldn't have been as sweet as this one is. So in the end, I'm glad that both Emily and Samantha won. I hope that you enjoyed this photo story!

Anna from Frozen Classic Doll- Plus a Note

Today I opened up my brand new Anna Disney Classic Doll! I really loved the movie Frozen, so I was thrilled to add Anna to my Frozen Gang (as I call it). I have had her for a few days, but I just didn't get around to opening her. So here she is in all of her glory!

I took a picture of her in her box before I took her out.

Anna is pretty when she is inside of the box, but once I got her out from behind the plastic, I saw just how gorgeous she really is. The colors of her outfit are so vibrant, and her face is very accurate to the movie.

Look at how adorable she is!

Gettin' a bit sassy.

This is when Anna saw the beautiful mountain in the distance. She was adamant about climbing it right then and there.

"Here I go!" she grunted, as she began her ascent.

"Ha HA! I have conquered you, mountain!" Anna celebrated when she had reached the top.

She struck a pose for me, looking very heroic and adventurous, while inwardly, she was more like this...

Her inward emotions then came out.

She decided to sit down and take a breather before heading down the mountain again, allowing me a chance to take a picture of her stylin' boots.

Anna wishes everyone well. Or, in her words, "Bye!"

I wanted to let you know that I will most likely not be posting anything during this weekend. I will be back to posting on Sunday, the day that the Pumpkin Showdown winner is announced. If you haven't voted on which pumpkin is your favorite, then here is part one of the story (where you learn about the challenge), and here is part two (where the pumpkins are revealed). Also, if you haven't voted on the pumpkins yet, you have until Sunday to get your vote in. I don't mind if you vote on Sunday morning, but anytime after noon your vote may not count, because I might be working on the winner's post by then.

I have received all of your votes and wonderful comments, and I want to thank y'all for them here, since I'm not publishing the comments until after the competition is over. Thank you for all of your kind words about my writing, stories, and, of course, pumpkins!
I will talk to you on Sunday.

A Small Note- and Pumpkin Update

Hey y'all. I just wanted to put out a note letting you know to not expect a photo story today. But if you are new to this site, check out some of my other posts! Also, I have gotten all of y'all's votes on the pumpkin contest, so don't worry about not being counted in. I'm not going to tell you who is in the lead currently, but I'll just tell you to check back on Sunday to see who the winner is!

Also, if you could tell your fellow doll loving friends to check out the contest, that would be fantastic! It would be really fun to get even more votes on the pumpkins. Or if you yourself haven't read about the pumpkin contest, then click here for part one of the story, and click here for part two (where the pumpkins are revealed).

I hope to be hearing from you soon!

The Great Pumpkin Showdown! Part 2

"Welcome one and all! Prepare to be AMAZED at the level of creativity you are about to witness!!!" Ivy announced loudly.
"Ivy? Who are you talking to?" Emily asked.
"The AUDIENCE! Or, rather, the imaginary audience," Ivy explained. "And now! First up is Jessica's pumpkin!"

"This is my pumpkin Edna!" Jessica announced proudly. She stood up and walked over to Ivy.

"Ummm... Edna? Why Edna? It's YOU in pumpkin form!" Ivy was bemused, losing her game show voice.
"What I prefer to ask myself is not 'why'--- but 'why not?'" Jessica said. "Besides, I had to call her Edna! It was the first thing in my mind when I saw her... Such a beautiful sight..." Jessica trailed off.
"Uh, OK! Thank you, Jessica!!" Ivy resumed her announcer's voice.

"Umm... Excuse me..." Jessica grabbed her pumpkin's popcorn bowl and walked off.

"Oooh! Me next!" Jess eagerly said. "My pumpkin doesn't have a name unfortunately, but it looks just like me when I'm onstage performing!"

"My! This is impressive! Are those eyelashes??" Ivy asked.
Jess grinned. "Yes, they are!"
"Well, well! Great job, Jess!"

Ivy walked over to Samantha's pumpkin next.
"Well, Samantha! Tell me about your pumpkin!" Ivy was overly exuberant.
"Sure! My pumpkin is dressed up like me when I go birdwatching. I bring Jip with me whenever I go birdwatching (he's a wonderful birdwatcher), so I included him in my display. I tried to make my pumpkin's 'hair' curly just like my real hair, and I attempted to give my pumpkin bangs as well," Samantha explained.

"This is wonderful, Samantha! I think that Jip thinks that it's wonderful too," Ivy said as she noticed Jip sniffing the pumpkin's face.

"And last, but certainly not least, Miss Emily! Give me the 'low-down' on your pumpkin, Em!" Ivy said.
Emily cleared her throat, "Well, my pumpkin is a very accurate representation of myself for several reasons- but I don't think I have time to mention them all..."

"NO you do NOT! But I do see the resemblance!" Ivy said. "Great job, Emily!"

"Well, ladies, this has been wonderful! You have all made some incredible pumpkins, but there can only be one winner," Ivy said.

"I am now going to retire into my study, to decide who the winner will be!" Ivy dramatically announced. Then she swaggered out of the room, and entered her bedroom.

The four girls stayed in the living room to wait for Ivy's decision.
"Oh goodness, that girl is a nut!" Jess said, talking about Ivy's dramatic exit.
"I wonder whose pumpkin she thought was the best?" Emily pondered.
"I don't know, but we should know soon," Samantha said.
Jessica ate some popcorn, and starred at it. Then she said, "You do all know that Edna is the best, right?"
-------------------------------------------------------------

Now, here is your part! You are going to vote on whose pumpkin you think is the most accurate representation of the doll that made it, (or it's just plain your favorite) and the pumpkin with the most votes will be named the winner. I won't be publishing your comments until after the contest is over, that way the winner is a surprise to everyone. I will read your comments however, so don't worry about your vote not counting just because it isn't published.

Here are the close-ups of the pumpkins with some descriptions-

Jessica's Pumpkin "Edna."
Edna is dressed for karate, complete with a black belt. Edna's hair is pulled into a ponytail, she has green eyes just like Jessica, and a most important snack sits beside her.

Jess's Pumpkin-
Jess's pumpkin includes her favorite colors, eyelashes, lips, brown eyes, and black hair. A Rachel Lampa CD- which is actually one of Jess's CD's- sits with the pumpkin.

Samantha's Pumpkin-
This is Samantha out birdwatching. She has her binoculars, bird ID cards, and her faithful dog Jip. And as Samantha mentioned, her pumpkin's hair is curly, with bangs.

Emily's Pumpkin-
Emily's pumpkin has red hair (although it is very red), blue eyes, and a smile on its face. Emily loves polka dots, cardigans, and headbands, so this is a perfect example of her style. The pumpkin also has Emily's scrapbook and dog tags with it.
-------------------------------------------------

Don't forget to vote! The voting will last the rest of the week, and the winner will be announced on Sunday, so get your votes in before then. I know that the winner is a long way off, but I don't think that I will have the time to post the winner any sooner.

If you don't know the personalities of my dolls yet, then I would suggest visting the "Meet My Dolls" page, and reading previous posts. Good luck to all of the pumpkins!
