The Spice Girls Decorate the Christmas Tree

Twas about a week until Christmas, and all through the house, every girl was up, and standing about. They all were dressed in their cozy pajamas, waiting for the Christmas tree, and in their own special way, each was as excited as could be.
(Yes, it rhymes!)

The girls and their dogs were all gathered together in the living room on a chilly night. They were eagerly waiting for me to bring them their Christmas tree.

"I hope we get a big tree this year, like we asked for!" Samantha said.
"That would be nice," Emily smiled in agreement.

"Are we going to make popcorn strands to put on the tree?" Jessica asked as she munched on her favorite snack. Coconut sniffed at the bowl.

"Who has time for that?" Ivy asked. "We just need to use what we've already got!" Ivy's dog Teddy leaned up against Ivy's legs, expecting a scratch on the head.

"How long have we been waiting?" Jess inquired as she flipped through her magazine. "It feels like it's been an hour!"

"Alright, girls!" I exclaimed as I walked into the room, carrying their tree. "Here's the tree! Have fun decorating! If you need any help with anything, just let me know." Then I left the girls to their decorating.

"Woah! Now that is a tall tree!" Samantha said excitedly. "It's taller than I am!"
Jip barked in agreement.

"Come on! Let's get it out of the box!" Jess said as she attacked the box. Emily and Samantha quickly jumped in to help, each of them grunting with the effort of pulling the big tree out of the box.

"Now that it's out of the box, let's take off the bubble wrap!" Ivy exclaimed.

"There we go!" Ivy said as she threw the wrapping onto the floor.
"I can't wait to decorate!" Samantha laughed.

"Jess, will you help me adjust the tree branches?" Emily asked.
"Sure! It's going to look great!" Jess agreed as she stood up.

The two girls got busy stretching out the branches, making the tree look its best.

"Alright, so I have popcorn, and bubble wrap?" Jessica said in disbelief. "This Christmas can't get any better!" Jessica shrieked in glee.

"Time for decorations!" Emily grinned. "Everyone gets to tie ribbons to the tree!"
All of the girls eagerly grabbed some ribbons and attached them to the tree.
Samantha looked carefully at the tree when everyone was done tying their ribbons on.
"Something is missing..." she told the others. "I just don't know what!"
Emily scrutinized the tree, then exclaimed, "Ah! It's missing a garland! I think I have something that will work really well for this."

"Emily, the pearl strands are so cute! Very classy," Jess complimented.
Emily blushed. "Thanks!"
Ivy tied one last ribbon to the tree, while Samantha adjusted the garland a little.
"Jessica, aren't you going to help decorate?" Ivy asked.

"I only care about lighting the tree," Jessica explained. "I want to be the one to light it up!"
By now, all of the girl's dogs had gathered together beside Jessica's lounge chair, in hopes that she would drop them some popcorn.

"Well, it's that time!" Jess exclaimed. "Time to light the tree!"
Ivy's forehead wrinkled when a realization dawned upon her. "We don't have an outlet nearby! How are we going to light the tree?"
That was when I came back into the room. "Oh! Your tree is so pretty!" I said.
"Thanks, Ginger," Samantha replied. "But we have a problem-- nowhere to plug in the tree!"
I thought about it a minute, then suggested, "What if I put the tree on my desk? There's a plug nearby, and your tree would be on display all the time!"
"Yes!" the girls all exclaimed in delight.

I placed the tree on my desk, close enough to the outlet for them to plug it in.
"Thanks, Ginger!" the girls said together.
"No problem," I replied, then left them to light their tree.
"Are you ready, Jessica?" Samantha yelled.

"READY!!!" Jessica hollered back. Then she slid the plug into the outlet.

The tree lit up and shone for all to see! Each of the girls clapped and cheered when they saw the tree's lights twinkle.

"Way to go, Jessica!" Ivy screamed.

"Thank you, thank you very much!" Jessica took a bow. Then she raised her voice and said, "MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!! And to all, a GOOD NIGHT!!!"

The dogs celebrated in their own way-- gathered around Jessica's popcorn bowl!

I hope you enjoyed this Christmas photostory! I have one last photo to share with you. I saw the Christmas tree lights shining in Jess's eyes, and I took the opportunity to capture the moment. I'm rather fond of this picture myself!

Costume Contest Winner!

Hey, y'all! I'm so excited to present to you... The results from the costume contest (here)!

Note- this symbol * means Emma's Jess.
--------------------------------------------

Over a week after the harvest party, Jessica was sitting on the couch, messing with her brand new iPhone.

"So... How does this thing work?" Jessica murmured.

She had been attempting to make the phone work for over an hour when Ivy and Jess walked into the living room.

"I just don't understand why this is taking so long!" Jess said. "My sister is usually very punctual about things!"
Ivy shrugged, "I know! But I'm sure that she'll contact us with the winners of the costume contest soon."

"I hope so," Jess sighed. The two girls stepped closer to Jessica.
"What are you doing, Jessica?" Ivy asked.
Jessica groaned, then said, "I'm trying to figure out how this stupid phone works!"
"WHAT?!? You have a phone?!?" Jess screamed. "I've wanted one of those for FOREVER!!"
"Yeah, well, this one is ridiculous! It doesn't work! It's just a piece of junk!" Jessica exclaimed, throwing the phone to the floor.

"NOOOO!!!! Not the precious!!!" Jess yelled as she dived to the floor in her attempt to save the phone.
Ivy tried to calm Jessica down, saying, "Don't worry, it probably just needs to be rebooted or something."

"You should never throw electronics, Jessica!" Jess cried while Jessica turned towards the side of the couch and started to stuff something into her mouth.
"Well, ziz onf whaf beinh nutsh!" Jessica mumbled.
"What?" Ivy asked.
Jessica spit out a mouthful of popcorn and answered, "I said, this one was being nuts!"

Jess's brow crinkled as she asked, "Where did that popcorn come from?"
Jessica replied,"I keep a secret stash hidden between the couch covers. Now leave me alone-- I'm busy stress eating!!"

"Put down the popcorn and pick up the phone!" Jess said. "I'm going to help you figure it out. Some of the people down in production that I've worked with for my concerts have iPhones, so I know how to work 'em."

"Now," Jess began as she sat down, "what is it that you want to do on the phone?"
"Umm... I would like to download Flappy Bird!" Jessica said.
"Alright, then here is how you do that," Jess started to explain how the app store works. Then something strange started to happen.

"Uh, Jess? The phone is doing something," Jessica pointed out.
"Yeah! It's vibrating! What is it doing?" Ivy asked, her curiosity piqued.

Jess looked at the screen. "Oh! We're getting a phone call-- from *Jess*!" Then she gasped, "Maybe she's finally got the results for the costume contest!"

Jess clicked the "accept" button, then put *Jess* on speaker. "Hey, sis! What's up?"
"Hey! Well, I have the winner from the harvest...contest...thing," *Jess* said.
"Oh, yay! We've been waiting!" Jess said excitedly.
Ivy looked on and listened as the two girls chatted. "Wow, I've never experienced anything like this before!" she thought. (Ivy is a 70s child)
"Yeah, I know, sorry about that. Saige has been using the...GET OUT OF MY FACE! Sorry. Molly is so excited to see who's gonna win, we're basically nose-to-nose." *Jess* said. "What was I saying? Right, Saige has been using the computer nonstop! I've hardly seen the screen, but now I've FINALLY gotten onto the computer and I have counted up the votes!"
"OK, so who won on your side?" Jess asked.
"It was a tie between Julie and Molly, Isabelle, and Cecile!" *Jess* replied.
"Oh, wow! That's a lot of people in a tie!" Jess exclaimed. "And who won on our side?"
*Jess* laughed, "Jessica won."

Jess and Ivy looked over at their friend.
"Jessica! You won!" Ivy laughed with glee.
Jessica's face slowly spread into a grin.

Then she sprang up from her seat and started to dance around the room, singing out, "Yay!!! I AM A CROQUET CHAMPION COWGIRL!!! I'm a winna, woo hoo!!!"

As Jessica continued to perform her victory dance, Jess wrapped up the phone call with her sister.
"As you can probably hear, Jessica is very excited about winning the contest," she explained.
*Jess* laughed again, "I would think so!"
Jess smiled, then said, "Well, I should probably get going. But it was nice to hear from you. We should get together again sometime!"
"Yeah! Totally! I'll talk to you later! Bye!" *Jess* hung up.

"Man, I really thought that I had a chance!" Ivy said. "My lion costume was so original!"
"I thought it was cute," Jess agreed. "But I think that I can honestly say that Jessica's costume was just a bit more, um... Original."
Ivy giggled, "Yeah, I guess that's true! We'll have to let Samantha and Emily know the results once they get back from grocery shopping."

Jess looked to her right, then with a chucle, said, "Something makes me think that Jessica will be sure to let them know."
"WOOHOO!!!" Jessica yelled.
----------------------------------------------------

I hope that you enjoyed the reveal! I was really amused (in a good way) when I found out that Jessica won the contest. Ivy's lion costume came in second place. The votes that you cast will now be published, but I'm not going to be able to post the comment that I accidentally deleted. That vote was for Ivy, just so you know. Have a great night!

Jessica in Mars

One day, Jessica and her pet polar bear were walking along the planet of Mars. Jessica was prepared for her space dance routine at the Mars Stadium. The Martians were there for an intense game of space ball, and Jessica just knew that she would be needed there to spice things up.
"Come on, Merida! We can't be late to the giant baboon fest! I can't wait to come floating in on my favorite hair bow. Man, we've been walking for years! Wonder when we can sit down..." Jessica pondered.

But then... A HUGE pillow landed right in front of them! It was radiating heat from it's super speeding from the sun.

"Woah! This is perfect! A pillow to sit on!" Jessica squealed in delight.

Jessica sat down on the warm pillow, and said, "Time for a snack!"
She pulled a rose out of the flaming hot ground and stuck it between her teeth.

Then she gnawed on it, savoring the rosy flavor.

"Oh, Coconut! You're back from the doggy gym!" Jessica said.

Then she was off! Zooming through space, soaring through the air!
"Now, this is the way you should see space!" Jessica decided.

Then her space craft landed in a new part of Mars.
Jessica sniffed the air in this new part of the world. "Mmm... Smells like... POPCORN!!!"

"That it is! This is Popcorn, Mars," a high-pitched voice said, the creature owning it extended it's sock covered hand to help her out of the space craft.
"Umm... Who are you?" Jessica asked, not taking the creature by the hand.

"I am Malishiaga. I am a servant of the Empress FANTA. She has requested your presence in the throne room," Malishiaga said.

"Awesome!" Jessica said.
"You must pay to enter though. It will cost you one pair of yellow, overly large sunglasses," Malishiaga explained.
"Oh! I have one of those right here! Say, does the Empress FANTA like bananas?" Jessica asked as she handed the glasses over.

"Well, I don't know if she likes bananas, but she absolutely adores Jupiter!" Malishiaga answered.
"Oh, OK. Totally understandable," Jessica agreed.

Then, two creepily large hands extended from the sky and grabbed the girls by the head.
"Going up!" Malishiaga said cheerily.
Jessica was surprised at how calm she was. Her heart wasn't even pounding hard at all!

"This is Empress FANTA," Malishiaga told Jessica.
"Malishiaga, your work here is done. BEGONE!" a loud, grating voice boomed.

"OK! Bye!" Malishiaga waved.

Then Malishiaga was flung to the side of the planet.

"Wow, Empress FANTA! You sure have a cool city here!" Jessica said as she sat down.
The Empress smelled her popcorn scented feet.

"YES, IT IS VERY NICE!!! NOW... TO THE ABYSS WITH YOU!!!" The Empress FANTA grabbed Jessica by her hat.
"Oh, OK. Well, nice meeting you!" Jessica said, once again surprised that she wasn't scared.

The Empress FANTA flung Jessica into a dark, never ending hole in the ground.

"Wait... This isn't fun! Someone get me out of here!!!" Jessica yelled.

A little white head popped up. "Do you require assistance??? DO YOU???" The little unicorn said.

"I am Verbanos! I am off to rescue the endangered pancakes!!!" the unicorn announced.

"I'm OFF!!!" Verbanos yelled, flying out of the abyss.
"NO! WAIT!!! You can't leave me here!!!" Jessica screamed.

"I never got my nachos!!!" Jessica yelled out.

"Nachos... nachos... nachos..."

"Nachos!!!" Jessica shouted out, then woke with a start.

She sat up in bed and breathed in deeply to still her heart.
"Phew! It was just a dream..." she told herself.

"Boy, I shouldn't have tried the jalapeno and black pepper popcorn before bed last night," she muttered.

She turned over and was completely startled by what she saw next.

"Hello! I am Verbanos!" a little white unicorn declared.

"Do you have any endangered pancakes that need saving?" Verbanos asked.

Jessica blinked once. Twice.

Verbanos blinked back.

Jessica flung the covers over her head and hid from the unicorn.
"It was just a dream. JUST A DREAM!!!"

I hope that you enjoyed this wacky photo story! It was a lot of fun making it, due to the nonsensical nature.
