The Harvest Party- Part 2

Note- the little asterisk (*) means Emma's Jess. And this story is told through the views of my dolls, so that's why the pictures are a bit different at times.
----------------------------------------------------------

The girls quickly arrived at the Harvest Party. Jessica was the first to make a splash.

"FOUR!!!" Jessica yelled as she slammed her croquet ball with the stick. Then she ran off to retrieve the ball.

"Hi everybody!" Jess waved. She loved going to parties.

"Hey, you guys!" *Jess* exclaimed back.
Then the four guests noticed what Jessica was doing.

"Can I PLEEEASE have this popcorn?!?!?" Jessica begged. She had set aside her croquet and had practically gone face-down in the bowl of popcorn.
"Umm... Sure?" Saige said, pushing the bowl towards Jessica.
"THANK YOU!!!" Jessica yelled, then she sat down to enjoy her snack.

Meanwhile, Jess wandered around, saying "Hello!" to everyone, and floating around the room like the social butterfly she was.

"Oh, *Jess*! It's so good to see you!" Jess said while giving her a hug.
"You too! We haven't seen each other since---well, FOREVER!" *Jess* responded.
The two sisters settled in for a nice chat.

Samantha walked over to Cecile and Isabelle. "Hi! Cool costumes you two!"
"Oh thanks, Samantha!" Cecile replied. Isabelle blushed.

Ivy joined a small group consisting of Sloan, Nikki, Adam, and Julie.
"So... Can you guess what I am??" Ivy asked her best friend Julie.
"OOH! OOH! A....LION!!!" Julie guessed.
"YES!!! I can't believe you actually got it on your first try!" Ivy was delighted.
"Well...It must be the special BFF powers!" Julie laughed.

"Hello, Molly!" Emily greeted her friend. "What are you for the party?"
"I'm a 30's girl! And you are??" Molly asked.
"Well, I guess you could say I'm a 1700s girl!" Emily giggled.

The party was in full swing. All of the girls (and the one boy) were having a great time.

"Soooooooooooo, who are you?" Nikki frowned and looked at Jessica's hat.
"I. Am a Croquet Champion Cowgirl!" Jessica answered, looking over Nikki's outfit.
"Well, I'm a regular cowgirl...I even had a horse..." Nikki frowned deeper and looked away.

Jessica frowned and decided to top Nikki. "WELL. I have a croquet stick and a croquet ball!!"
Then she flung her hands up while holding onto her croquet tools, but she wasn't holding on to the ball tightly enough.

PHEW! Jessica accidentally threw the ball backwards.

"Whoops..." Jessica said.

The ball landed in the punch bowl! The girls around the snack table all screamed and jumped back when the ball came whizzing through the air to plop in front of them.

Emily reached down and handed the wet ball to Jessica.
"Here you go, Jessica," she said.

Jessica dried the ball off on her shirt. "Thanks, Emily!"

After the punch bowl incident, the party continued. Cheery voices coursed through the room, yummy popcorn smelled wafted in the air, and the girls (and one guy) complimented one another on their fun costumes.

"It's time for the costume contest!" *Jess* yelled.

Isabelle pushed back a table and cleared it off so that it could be the "stage".

Emily went first. "I'm a colonial girl, ready for tea time."

Jess stepped up and said, "I'm an Irish dancer! Not in real life, but that's my costume anyways!"

"I'm an artist. Not Parisian," Samantha explained.

"I am a mighty, ferocious lion!! Rawr!" Ivy struck a lion pose, then hopped off the stage.

"And I am not a cowgirl. I am a Croquet Champion Cowgirl!" Jessica declared.

Once everyone had their picture taken for the contest, it was time for the Spice girls to go home.
"I'm going to post this on our blogs and people can vote for our outfits and see which one they like best!" *Jess* declared.
"Oh fun!" Jess responded.
"I can't wait to see who will win!" Ivy squealed.
"Well, we should get going," Emily said.
"NOOOOO!!!!" Jessica screamed and threw herself to the floor, crying and swimming in the popcorn still on the ground.
Eventually, the girls got Jessica up and out the door. They all waved goodbye to each other, and concluded the party for the evening.

So, whose costume from my dolls do you like the best? Leave a comment below, and the winner will be announced in another photo story. The comments for this post won't be published until the end of the contest, but I will look at them and count the votes.

The Harvest Party- Part One

On a crisp autumn evening, the girls were all getting ready for a Harvest party at their friend's house.

"Hey, everybody! Are you all ready yet?" Jess called.

"I'm ready!" Samantha stepped out of her room.
"Wow! Cool costume! Are you Parisian?" Jess asked.
"No, I'm an artist," Samantha explained.
"Oh, OK! That's a good idea," Jess said.

"And I see that your Irish dancer costume turned out nicely," Samantha commented.
"Yes, largely due to you! Thanks for borrowing this wig from the dance studio for me!" Jess said.
"No problem," Samantha smiled.

"Alright, I'm ready now!" Emily joined the girls in the living room.
"Oh, Emily! You look beautiful!" Samantha complimented.

"Thank you! I'm going to the party as a colonial girl," Emily said.

"ANNNNNDDD... I'm ready to go!" Ivy sprang out of her room.
"Umm... What are you, Ivy?" Jess asked. "A caveman?"

"No!! This isn't a beard you guys! I'm a lion!" Ivy exclaimed and struck her lion pose.

"Oh! OK! I see it now. Really cute!" Jess said.
"Now we just need Jessica. Where is she?" Emily asked.

"I'm right here!" Jessica said.
"Nice! You're a cowgirl! But, what is with the medal and the croquet stuff?" Ivy asked.
"I am NOT a cowgirl!!! I'm a cowgirl who won a champion croquet match. I'm a Croquet Champion Cowgirl!" Jessica declared.

Jessica stooped to pick up her ball. The other four girls all looked at each other with slightly weirded out looks on their faces.
"Well, uh, that's a very, um... Interesting costume, Jessica!" Samantha said.

"YES! We're all ready to go now! Let's set out for the party!!" Ivy exclaimed.
"Woohoo!" Jessica yelled.

The Great Pumpkin Showdown! Part 3- And the Winner Is...

"Man, Ivy has been in that room for so long! I feel like it's been a week!" Jess complained.
"I know! But if she doesn't come out soon with a decision, then we'll just have to make her come out," Samantha said.
"I agree. She's taking way too long!" Emily replied.

Jessica wasn't complaining at all. She was too busy trying to find two identical kernels of popcorn.

Finally, Ivy stepped out of her bedroom with the blue ribbon in her hand.
"GOOD! You're out!! We've been waiting for forever!!" Samantha exclaimed.
"Did you come to a decision, then?" Emily asked.

"Yes, I came to a decision," Ivy answered.

The three girls stared at her, waiting for her to announce the winner. The fourth girl (if you can guess which one) stared at the shiny blue ribbon in Ivy's outstretched hand, thinking about how good it would look in her bedroom with her karate trophies. (Yes, it was Jessica)

"I have decided that the winner is..." Ivy paused for dramatic effect.

"ME!!! I win!" Ivy burst out.

"WHAT?!?!?!?!?!"
Jess turned around, completely exasperated, while Emily and Samantha protested. Jessica stared at some more popcorn, waiting for the chaos to die down.

"Calm down, everyone. I didn't actually decide that I won! I didn't even design a pumpkin! But what took me so long in there was that I'm not the one who decided the winner here. All of your pumpkins were so great, I couldn't decide! So I posted your pumpkins onto the Internet and asked other people to vote. And the people have spoken!" Ivy explained.

"What have they decided?" Emily asked.
"Did I win, Ivy?" Jess took a step forward.

"Oh, Jess. Jess, Jess, Jess. No, you didn't win," Ivy said matter-of-factly.

Jess frowned. "But my pumpkin was so good! Oh well..." She walked over and stood next to her friends.

"Then that can only mean one thing... I WIN!!!" Jessica shouted and jumped up, dumping her popcorn all over the floor. But she was so excited that she didn't even care. She wouldn't have cared even if she hadn't been excited, really.

"Uh, no, Jessica. You didn't win either," Ivy said.
"Well, of course I didn't win- Edna won!" Jessica clarified.
"OK, no, Edna didn't win either," Ivy explained.

Ivy stepped over the popcorn and left Jessica to pout amongst the pile of popcorn.

"So, that just leaves us!" Samantha declared.
"Oh goody! I'm still in the running!" Emily was delighted.

"Yes, that just leaves you two. Well, congratulations! It was a tie! You both won!" Ivy announced.

Emily and Samantha looked at each other.
"How is that possible?" Samantha asked.

"Well, you both got the same number of votes. Here's your ribbon!" Ivy gave them the ribbon.

"Thanks," Emily said as they both accepted the ribbon.
"Yeah, thanks," Samantha was still a bit disappointed about the tie.
"Well, how are we going to do this? We can't exactly share the ribbon, can we?" Emily asked.
Samantha shrugged.

"You know what? I have an idea. Can I have the ribbon for now?" Jess said.

Once Jess had received the ribbon, she pulled Jessica aside for a moment.
"Can you do something for me?" Jess asked.
"Sure, whatcha need?" Jessica replied.

A few moments later, Jess called all of the girls into the living room, and they gathered around the mantel.
"Alright, so! I have called you in here for a very special reason," Jess started.
Then Jessica ran into the room, bringing a white card with her. "I got it, Jess!"

"Thanks, Jessica," Jess said as she grabbed the card.

Then she and Jessica turned around and started to fiddle around with the mantel, while Samantha, Ivy, and Emily stood there, waiting.

Then Jess and Jessica turned around and showed everyone what they had done.
"Check it out, girls!" Jess said.

Emily and Samantha leaned into the mantle and inspected it.

There hung a little plaque with the words "Samantha & Emily, The Great Pumpkin Showdown, 2014" on it, with the blue ribbon hanging beside it.

Samantha turned around to look at Jess.
"Oh, thank you, Jess!" Samantha hugged Jess. "This is the perfect way for us to share the award!"

Emily wasn't far behind in her gratitude. All of the girls were happy to have the new piece up in their house.
"Oh! Let's take a picture of you two with your award!" Ivy suggested.
"Yes, let's!" Emily, the shutterbug, said. She ran to get her camera and handed it to Ivy.

"Say PUMPKIN!" Ivy said.
"What a perfect way to end the competition!" Emily smiled.
Samantha grinned along.
------------------------------------------------------

Congratulations to the winners! For a while there, Samantha was in the lead, but then Emily snuck in at the last minute for the tie, thanks to one final vote today. To me, if there had only been one winner, I feel like the ending wouldn't have been as sweet as this one is. So in the end, I'm glad that both Emily and Samantha won. I hope that you enjoyed this photo story!
