Reflections

Hey, y'all. So last night I was chatting with Emma from Wack-A-Doodle-Dolls about blogging and such. We ultimately came to the conclusion that since I don't love blogging, I should just stop. It's hard though. It's difficult for me to let go of something that I have put work into, because I feel like a quitter. But I guess from the start, I never really enjoyed most of the blogging process. I did like parts of it, but overall I think my life will be happier without this activity.

I also haven't been very interested in dolls themselves lately. Going to college has had a big effect on me. It's caused me to shift my focus completely onto school, and it hasn't given me much time to do a lot of things that I enjoy doing. So why would I choose to spend precious time away from studying doing something that I don't want to do? It appears that I'll be continuing my scholarly journey in the fall, with my focus on my studies, not dolls. I still enjoy looking at dolls in stores and admiring their beautiful outfits, but there isn't as much joy in purchasing them as there was before. So I'll be shelving this interest, at least for now.

In light of all of this, I've decided that I will reveal my identity. I don't know how or when, but I want to show you all who I am. I think that it will be nice to be completely myself for the little time I have left on this blog. I also believe that I'll complete my Ever After High series Rules, Rebellion, and Revolution, but I won't be including pictures. Not unless I somehow get inspired to take photos, but it isn't likely. Also, for those of you who may be wondering, I will not be deleting my blog. It will still be here for you to read through, if you ever feel like perusing my old posts. Who knows? Maybe you'll hear from me again someday.:) But more on that later.

I also want to say thank you to each of my loyal readers. I truly appreciate all of the extremely nice comments that you have left for me, and I will miss hearing from you all. I hope that those of you who run your own blogs will continue finding inspiration, will enjoy every second of your blogging journeys, and will keep doing what you love.
Stay amazing, y'all!

XOXO Ginger Spice

  1. While I'm sad that you're leaving, I totally understand why you want to stop. You shouldn't blog if you aren't having fun. I will just enjoy your posts until you stop blogging. :)

  2. I understand. As you get older, you do tend to like playing less and you get busy. You shouldn't feel obligated to continue just because of us. I wish you all the best!

  3. I am sad to see you go, but I definitely understand. Blogging should be something that people enjoy, it shouldn't feel forced and it definitely shouldn't feel like a burden to post. Blogging isn't for everyone and that's fine :)
I'm glad you have decided to reveal who you really are, as I know others would like to see that ;)
Good luck with your studies and all your goals in life :)

  4. Hi Ginger! :)
Sorry I took so long to respond. I saw this the day after you posted and I've been so crazy busy I just haven't had time to comment.
You know, I'll definitely miss you, and I wish you're staying, but if you aren't having fun I understand. I know dolls are something a lot of people "outgrow" which I completely get. I think one of the hardest things about being an older AG fan is that you have to really find your niche with dolls -- whether it's the photography, the crafting, the sewing, etc. It's much harder for me to sit down and play with my dolls for five hours and play that they go camping "And oh no there is a snake in the woods!" than it was five years ago.
And it is hard, I know, with college. Plenty of my friends are in college, and I know how crazy busy they are.
    *hugs*
Eagerly awaiting any more things you might post,
    Kathleen

  7. If you still have an interest in writing, I suggest making a new blog about your current life and interests. Maybe it will be more fun. Or, you could join a collab blog.
