Meet My Dolls

American Girl Dolls-

I received Jessica as a birthday gift from my grandparents when I was about seven years old. She is very special to me because she is the doll that started my love for American Girls, and she was also my first American Girl doll. Since she is my oldest doll and I didn't know much about caring for her at the time, she is the doll in the worst condition (but I prefer to think that this means that she was very loved). She is supposed to be a redhead, but she looks mostly brunette to me. Although I admit that she does seem to have some red in it. Auburn maybe?
Favorite color: red
Favorite food: popcorn! (see "Samantha's Showcase")
Hobbies: karate, eating popcorn, taking her dog Coconut for walks.
Favorite animal: dogs
Favorite book: The Comprehensive Encyclopedia of Popcorn by Ginger Spice
Favorite movies: The Karate Kid and Kung Fu Panda
Personality: Jessica doesn't usually say much, but that doesn't mean she doesn't follow what's going on. She is a bit obsessed with popcorn... She is a tomboy, loves action movies, and desires real action in her life. Even though she can be aloof at times, she is very loyal to her friends, and is the brawn of the group- always ready to defend and stick up for her pals.
Pet: Coconut, a Westland High Terrier
Song that best describes her life: "Everybody Was Kung Fu Fighting"

Miss Samantha Parkington was a Christmas gift to me when I was about eight or nine. She is my second American Girl doll.
Favorite color: lavender
Favorite food: peppermint ice cream
Hobbies: ballet, hairstyling, and bird watching.
Favorite animal: whales
Favorite book: Model Undercover: Paris by Carina Axelsson
Favorite movie: Barbie and the Pink Shoes
Personality: Samantha is a girly girl who loves pretty dresses, parties (especially tea parties), and shopping. She is a very kind person who tries to be polite to everyone that she meets, even if they drive her nuts. Samantha is the friend that is always there to speak sense and offer advice- and help put that advice into action.
Pet: Jip, a Cocker Spaniel
Song that best describes her life: "Keep On Dancing" from Barbie and the Pink Shoes

Girl of the Year of 2006, Jess McConnell is my third AG doll. If I remember correctly, I bought her on a birthday trip to the American Girl Store, obviously in 2006.
Favorite colors: orange and turquoise
Favorite food: fryjacks (fried tortillas with sugar)
Hobbies: singing, hiking, and exploring.
Favorite animal: monkeys
Favorite book: Above World by Jenn Reese
Favorite movie: Grace Unplugged
Personality: Jess is an outgoing, fun-loving girl, with lots of starpower- she is a popular singer who goes by the stage name of Rachel Lampa.  She loves traveling to new places and meeting new
people- like on her archeology trip to Belize, South America. Jess is the friend who is always ready to push everyone in the direction of their dreams, and help them gain a dose of confidence when they need it.
Pet: Vanessa, a Chihuahua.
Song that best describes her life: "Glow" by Britt Nicole

Emily Bennet is my fourth American Girl. I got her on a birthday trip to the American Girl Store. I don't remember the year, but it must have been after 2006. That was my last trip to the store where I actually bought something. I bought Emily at the same time as my next doll that you will meet.
Favorite color: blue
Favorite food: homemade chicken pot pie
Hobbies: sewing, baking, cooking, photography, and reading.
Favorite animal: pandas
Favorite book: Great Expectations by Charles Dickens
Favorite movie: Julie and Julia (on ClearPlay)
Personality: Emily is a very sweet and smart girl. She can often be found cooking and cleaning up the girls' house. Emily loves being home, but she is also willing to try new things- as long as they're not too scary. She is the friend that everyone comes to whenever they need help with something- they know that Emily would do anything for them.
Pet: Mary, a Poodle
Song that best describes her life: "Be a Friend" from Barbie in Mariposa and the Fairy Princess

Ivy Ling is my fifth and final American Girl doll. As I mentioned before, I bought her at the same time as Emily.
Favorite color: magenta
Favorite foods: hamburgers and french fries.
Hobbies: gymnastics, art, and trying new things!
Favorite animal: dolphins (see "Ivy and Emily's Trip to Sea World")
Favorite book: Phillipa Fisher's Fairy Godsister by Liz Kessler
Favorite movie: Dolphin Tale
Personality: Ivy is a very energetic, spunky, and daring person. She is always on the search for the next fun thing to do, and loves to make an adventure out of life. She is easily optimistic about other people's troubles, but can lose her optimism when it comes to bad things happening to her. She is the friend who always comes up with new, fun things to do, and likes cheering her friends up when they're down.
Pet: Teddy, a Terrier.
Song that best describes her life: "It Only Gets Better" from Moondance Alexander

Disney Classic Dolls-

Anna is my first Disney Classic doll. I received her for my birthday in 2014 from my grandma. Since the Frozen craze hit in 2013, I had to wait until she came back in stock about a year later to get her, and I am so glad that she is now a part of my doll family!

Favorite color: forest green
Favorite foods: sandwiches and chocolate
Hobbies: hiking, climbing, singing, and adventuring!
Favorite animal: reindeer
Favorite book: Breadcrumbs by Anne Ursu
Favorite movie: The Sound of Music
Personality: Anna is a very energetic and optimistic person. She loves to climb up anything she can find, in the hopes of discovering something wonderful- she also just enjoys the climb! Her best friend is her sister Elsa. She loves her friends and family beyond anything else, and always tries to make wonderful memories with them. She hopes to meet her Prince Charming someday soon. We shall see...
Pet: None
Song that best describes her life: "Climb Every Mountain" from the Sound of Music
